Professional Consultation for Therapists

For therapists navigating the complexity of trauma, upbringing, and religious harm.

Most therapists seek consultation services with me after attending one of my continuing education workshops or connecting at a professional event. If we haven't crossed paths yet but something on this site resonates with you, I'd encourage you to reach out. I offer a brief phone consultation so we can get a sense of whether working together would be a good fit.

I'm passionate about equipping clinicians with practical, ethical, and socially conscious tools for healing, and I'd love to hear from you.

Approach

My consultation style is similar to my therapy style: warm and directive.

By "warm," I mean I aim to create a space where you can think openly, ask questions, bring uncertainty, and discuss challenges without fear of judgment.

By "directive," I mean I'm not simply going to listen and say, "What do you think you should do?" While I deeply value your clinical judgment, I'll also share observations, offer case conceptualizations, provide concrete suggestions, and point out patterns I notice that may be useful to explore.

This approach is grounded in the way I practice therapy.

I work primarily from psychodynamic and humanistic traditions from a relational stance. This means I help clients develop insight into how their past shapes their present, emphasize their inherent potential, and explore how they find meaning and purpose in life. I believe the therapeutic relationship itself is a core part of healing—not just the container for techniques, but an intervention in its own right.

I use an integrative approach, drawing from a variety of frameworks based on what will best serve the client and clinician in front of me.

My work is also deeply informed by trauma research, attachment theory, and the literature on complex trauma. I frequently draw from Pete Walker's framework for CPTSD and believe that when clinicians are equipped with strong conceptual understanding and practical interventions, we are better able to facilitate meaningful and lasting change.

Who This Is For

Consultation may be a good fit if you are:

  • Working with a client whose upbringing involved emotional immaturity, enmeshment, parentification, or family trauma and you're not sure how to move forward

  • Encountering religious trauma in your work and want to think through clinical, ethical, or cultural considerations

  • Wrestling with a case that feels stuck, complex, or emotionally challenging

  • Looking for a consistent space for professional reflection, growth, case conceptualization, and support

What to Expect

We'll meet individually, online, for 45-50-minute sessions. You bring what you're working through — a case, a clinical question, an ethical dilemma — and we think through it together. I'll offer perspective, ask questions, and give concrete direction where I can. You remain fully responsible for your clinical decisions.
